We’re running out of room for menus on the bottom edge. First troops, then the Spy icon, now the Achievements icon.
Nothing new added to build, sadly. But a whole lot of menus with different achievements to obtain.

We’re just not very nimble when it comes to finding the Spy in our city in time. Maybe you’ll have better luck?
With this week’s update, a Kraken is now off the South-East corner of your home island. Each friend that helps gets 4 free resources… and you get free troops, with more responders giving you more troops. (+50 troops, +100 troops, +300 troops and always +1000 fame) This will be a boon for players who have active neighbors. Not that we know what Fame is good for yet.
And you will have 24 hours to decide to buy the Dolphin for 2 PFC. We think that’s a great price on a fun animation.
The financial sacrifices we make for you, our dear readers!
Faced with so many questions, one of us clicked the “Spearmen 20 PFC button”. Wham. 20 PFC gone. And all 1200+ troops we had were instantly converted to Spearmen. It appears we paid to unlock the ability to make these new units for the future as long as we want to stay with this unit type.
But say you’re bored of Spearmen. Say you want Archers instead. Choose another type, pay 5 PFC, and voila, you now have that type instead. Apparently you can toggle between the 3 unit types all you want, it just costs 5 PFC each toggle. (Including 5 PFC to toggle back to the type you just had)
No, currently you may not mix the composition of your army. It’s all one type only and that’s it.
No, the fighting animation doesn’t change.
We’re still not sure why we’d want any of this.
Spearmen > Cavalry > Archers
A mechanic straight out of the Age of Empires and a hundred other RTS games.
And of course the basic “Soldiers” suffer a 50% disadvantage against ANY of the three above.
m.playfish.com will now let you play MyEmpire over your mobile phone if you have web access in your plan. Nope, we have no idea what the game looks like on mobile. We do know “This website requires a smartphone with support for AJAX and XHTML such as an iPhone or Android smartphone.” so if your current phone doesn’t support that you’re out of luck.
And the Tavern will be on special for 6 PFC your next login to the game.
Update: The My Empire Wiki has more info on how the mobile interface works.
Several other apps are also of interest, but we’ll shine the light on My Empire to close. Electronic Arts appears to be trying to revive the Rome-themed city builder, with growth spiking upward out of a slump about a week ago. –Inside Social Gaming
Just completed the Great Library Wonder. Nice!
Yes, we forgot write down what it took to complete it first, sorry. We just whisked right through and completed it in an eyeblink. Anyone who wants to update us with what it was we just spent, please use the comment section. 🙂
Pretty easy to add: First do the research to unlock the building
Then build the unlocked building.
Viola! You may now beg your friends for free spys. If your friends aren’t very responsive, then it’s time for new friends.
Spys are not very interesting. In a game where we’re overflowing with coins, you can’t buy them with coins. They are instead another feature that you have to beg from friends or buy with playfish cash. They let you see the wall type and number of troops before you attack. Each spy may be used once. So what you’re really doing is buying a peek one at a time.
We don’t recommend buying/bothering friends for spies if you have an army of 500 or more.
But we do like how the building looks, so we still recommend building it.
